Textured Stoneware Planters with a variety of glaze
These planters have been developed using stoneware clay for textural aspects that the clay can offer. Many different glazes are used for their textural elements and colours.
The glazes used are:
- Blue Ash Matt glaze. Wood ash from the fire and cobalt is added to a basic glaze recipe. Wonderful textures and a variety of colours show through this particular glaze.
- Ochoa glaze. Iron oxide and ash are added to a simple glaze recipe which also creates interesting texture and colours.
- Copper chum glaze, pored inside the pot with iron oxide sponge around the textured slabs on the outside of the pot.
